All of us have probably dived into some (social) media platform at some point, and you are right now if you're reading this post. How we view media changes over time, even year by year. So let's look at some of the top social media trends of this year. Live video streams are rising in popularity, like Twitch for example, and paid advertisements and coming to join the party. This shouldn't be a shock, but it seems to be more and more common. More interestingly, automated devices and services are taking the forefront to make our lives easier. Who doesn't want to just text a pizza place to have it delivered? However, the uprising of chatbots and other AI technology is a scary thought. Is it really worth it?  Wasn't it simple enough to call on the telephone? Will androids be invented and start their own race? However, questioning it won't really do anything. What is So Special About Becoming a Communications Major?

Obtaining a communications degree and/or studying the media is something that is overlooked and underrated by many people, myself being one of them until I did some research to discover what you can do with a communications degree. People who major in communications can find a profession in television production, technical writing, creating newspapers, and so much more. This can tie into my own love for writing and prompt me to seek out a career via a communications degree. Should I (personally) decide to major in communications/media studies, I would enjoy exploring the field of television production. Media is a wonderful tool if executed well.
